SITES FOR COLLECTION
OF TISSUE SAMPLES FOR NJDMAP
A
minimum of seven tissue samples need to be collected for tissue culture
and histopathology as follows:
1.
entire ileocaecal valve
2. all the ileocaecal lymph nodes
3. a 10cm X 5cm section of distal ileum. 15-20cm from the ileocaecal
valve
4. a 10cm X 5cm section of proximal ileum. 30-45cm from the ileocaecal
valve
5. a 10cm X 5cm section of caecum
6. a 10cm X 5cm section of proximal colon, 10-20cm from the ileocaecal
valve
7. mesenteric lymph nodes adjacent to the ileum.
