STEVE MODRICH
Central Laboratory Manager

Steve Modrich began his career in Clinical Biochemistry in the public sector at the Royal Melbourne Hospital where he worked for 5 years. This was followed by 16 years in a rural hospital laboratory at Bairnsdale Regional Health Service where he graduated to become laboratory manager.

The laboratory was privatised in 1992 and he continued in the capacity of laboratory manager under the new umbrella of Gippsland Pathology Service until 1998. With the growth and expansion of this privatised service, Steve moved to take up the position of laboratory manager at the Practice's Central Laboratory. The development of a Core Laboratory and the management of a 24-hour service have become his principal responsibilities.
