LAST RESORT SUPPORT PTY LTD
LRS provides support for more than 25 Pathology & Radiology Practices throughout Australia and the United Kingdom using the MediPATH, MediRAD and MediBILL program suites.

LRS' main office is situated on site at the Central Laboratory of GPS. In conjunction with the Practice's own Information Technology staff, LRS provides around the clock support and ongoing development of all of GPS' laboratory management, web based and instrument interfaced software.
QUALITY IN PATHOLOGY
Several organisations are responsible for ensuring the quality of Pathology laboratories.

NPAAC - NATIONAL PATHOLOGY ACCREDITATION ADVISORY COUNCIL
The council consists of representatives from all states and territories and peak professional bodies - RCPA, AAPP, AIMS, ASM, AACB and the Commonwealth Department of Health & Aging. The council is responsible for the development of policies for the accreditation of pathology laboratories and the maintenance of standards of pathology practice throughout Australia.
NATA - NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TESTING LABORATORIES
NATA is the Commonwealth endorsed provider of accreditation for Pathology Laboratories. It is responsible for ensuring that laboratories comply with the requirements of ISO17025, the international standard for the assessment of all calibration and testing laboratories. Compliance with these requirements is assessed every three years by independent peer review audit.

RCPA - ROYAL COLLEGE OF PATHOLOGISTS OF AUSTRALASIA
The RCPA is responsible for providing the external Quality Assurance Programs (QAP). Participation in external assessment of laboratory performance for all disciplines in pathology is a mandatory accreditation requirement.
NRL - NATIONAL SEROLOGY REFERENCE LABORATORY
NRL provides the QAP for HIV, HepC

ASBT - AUSTRALIAN SOCIETY OF BLOOD TRANSFUSION
The ASBT comprises members working in the area of Blood Tranfusion within Australia and New Zealand. This site is divided into a public section with general information about the ASBT, recent meetings and activities, and a password-protected area which is intended for communication between members of the society. A list server for distributing mail between ASBT members is also available.
