For community based patients, the billing policy of Gippsland Pathology Service is to charge private fees with Medicare reimbursing a percentage of this.

The following exceptions apply :

• Senior citizens over the age of 65
• Patients in receipt of pensions - disability, veterans
• Health Care Card holders
• Rule 3 exemptions as described in the Medical Benefits table / venesections
• Medical & Hospital staff (not including their families)
• PAP smears
